Assessment and treatment
Directories are starting points, not proof of quality or fit. Confirm that a provider can legally work with someone in your location and verify current licensing or registration with the appropriate regulator.
Official U.S. starting points for locating mental health and substance-use treatment services.
A commercial directory, not a regulator. Verify license, location eligibility, approach, fees, and availability yourself.
Official information about accessing NHS mental health services in England.
A platform listing, marketing claim, or video call option does not by itself verify licensure, BPD experience, suitability, or crisis coverage.
Peer and family support
Peer support may reduce isolation and offer practical experience, but it is not the same as professional assessment, psychotherapy, or crisis care. Before joining, review how the group operates.
Who operates and moderates the group, and are facilitators peers or licensed professionals?
Does it clearly explain what to do in a crisis and what moderators cannot provide?
Can posts, names, profiles, or attendance be visible to the public or other members?
Are there rules for harassment, self-harm content, diagnosis, medication advice, and commercial promotion?
Can members report unsafe behavior, block contact, remove content, or leave the group?
Are fees, sponsorships, affiliations, and use of member data clearly disclosed?
BPD Test does not operate or verify a support group, chat room, or social-media community listed by a search engine.
Self-help can support reflection, routines, communication, and skills practice. A workbook, app, video, or free skills group is not automatically a complete dialectical behavior therapy program or a substitute for professional treatment.
Consider professional help when experiences cause significant distress, interfere with daily life, involve repeated harmful behavior, or raise safety concerns. Do not start, stop, or change medication based on a website or community post.
A clinician training manual, consumer book, branded platform, hospital, or resource center serves a specific purpose. Check the publisher or organization directly for the intended audience, current edition, access terms, qualifications, and service area.
This site does not provide unauthorized manual downloads, reproduce proprietary treatment materials, rank named providers, or imply affiliation. A professional manual should not be treated as a free self-treatment replacement.
The tool on this site is a custom educational reflection checklist, not a diagnosis or validated clinical screener. Use the symptoms guide to understand professional assessment, or use the checklist only to organize observations from the past three months.
Clinical statements on this page are grounded in NIMH, NICE, and American Psychiatric Association guidance. Directory details can change, so confirm availability and terms directly before relying on a listing.
